Lauren Pletan | Primary Therapist
My journey into recovery is what ultimately led me to my purpose. As a recovering alcoholic and a mother of three incredible children, sobriety completely changed my life. My kids are my everything, and they are a huge part of why I chose this path.
When I entered treatment, I realized for the first time that becoming an LCDC was even a possibility. While I was still in treatment myself, I made the decision to go back to school so I could help people who were struggling the same way I had. I worked in a bar for two years while staying sober, raising my children, and putting myself through college, an experience that strengthened both my recovery and my determination to help others find theirs.
I’m passionate about recovery, especially helping alcoholics and addicts discover that lasting change is possible. I love AA, actively sponsor women, and believe deeply in the power of connection, accountability, and community.
Outside of work, I love all things summer, pools, lakes, oceans, and honestly any kind of water. If there’s sunshine, mud, or a 4-wheeler involved, I’m happy. And yes, I absolutely love pink.
I completed my practicum hours at Magnolia City Recovery Center, and that’s where I truly fell in love with this place. No treatment center is perfect, but the level of genuine care shown at Mag City is what stole my heart. That care is what brought me back when the opportunity opened up, and I’m proud to be part of a team that is so deeply committed to helping people heal.

Amanda Borski | Case Manager
I’ve had a personal journey with addiction from the age of 15 to 35, and my recovery journey truly began while I was incarcerated. That experience completely changed my perspective on life and gave me a passion for helping others who are struggling with addiction and mental health challenges, especially people who may feel hopeless or misunderstood because I’ve been there myself.
What brought me to this field is the desire to use my lived experience to connect with clients in a genuine and nonjudgmental way. I know firsthand how important compassion, patience, and support can be during recovery, and I love being able to encourage people through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
I started my career in the field as a behavioral healthcare technician, where I worked for the last two years supporting clients through detox and residential treatment. Recently, I transitioned into a case manager role, which has allowed me to grow professionally while continuing to build meaningful relationships with clients and support them throughout their recovery journey.
What I love most about MCRC is being part of a team that truly cares about helping people heal and rebuild their lives. I enjoy creating connections with clients, supporting their progress, and being part of an environment focused on growth, recovery, and second chances.
Outside of work, I’m currently enrolled at Lone Star College finishing my Associate of Science degree, and I’m interested in pursuing nursing in the future so I can continue helping others in the healthcare and recovery field.
